Team, project management and representatives of the hosts met in Dachau from June 6th to 9th for the second preparation weekend in 2025.

After the welcome and clarification of organizational details, the group began with a team-building exercise. The goals for the weekend were set and the working groups were divided up. They team then began with the further preparation of the program. This included preparing the workshops, events and excursions. All planning groups presented their completed workshop concepts, the final titles were determined and the schedule was finalized. In the evening, everyone attended the music event ‘Jazz in allen Gassen’ in Dachau’s old town.
Saturday, 07.06.2025
After a warm-up, the schedule was discussed further, the welcoming of the participants and the opening party were planned and the color groups were determined, followed by the arrangements for the house rally, the city rally, the film screenings, the program for ‘places of remembrance’ and the excursion to the Kaufering memorial. In the afternoon, Andrea Heller gave an overview of the planning for the various eyewitness talks, and the excursions and public events were also discussed. The remaining time was used for planning in various small groups.

Saturday also began with a warm-up before the small groups presented their interim results and discussed interactive methods. After lunch, there was again time for the planning groups and Magdalena Hübner gave a workshop on the topic of ‘Awareness’. The evening was also used for detailed planning in the respecitve groups.
Monday, 09.06.2025
On the last day of our preparation weekend, the final schedule for the two weeks of the youth meeting was determined together and everything that still needs to be done in the coming weeks was discussed. Finally, we evaluated the weekend and talked about the steps until IYM.
