In recognition of the contributions of Max Mannheimer (1920 – 2016) for the International Youth Meeting Dachau and with the aim of keeping his legacy alive, the Max Mannheimer Scholarship has been constituted in 2018 on the initiative of the district of Dachau. Every year, up to three young people from Germany and abroad who do not have sufficient financial means are given the opportunity to attend IYM Dachau free of charge. The scholarship is organized by the IYM Dachau organizations and is under the patronage of the District Administrator Stefan Löwl.

The scholarship is subject to funding.

CAPACITY
The scholarship includes the participation fee and the travel costs.

REQUIREMENTS
The scholarship holders bring a project to IYM Dachau. They either share a reflection of their experiences during IYM Dachau or present their culture of remembrance in some way. Before returning home, they present the result to their fellow participants.

APPLICATION
If you want to apply for the Max Mannheimer Scholarship, next to applying as a participant via our application form, please send us your motivational letter (1 page) and your project sketch (1 page) to anja.schuller-mueller@kjr-dachau.de. The deadline is April 15th. Tell us why you want to be a part of IYM Dachau, what experiences you have with the history of National Socialism, about your voluntary engagements and how important the scholarship is for you to take part in the youth meeting.
